Average Joe's was very popular with Colorado BMXers and people were bummed to hear that it was going the way of leg warmers and parachute pants. After some thought and a few gentle pushes by some forum members, team managers, Brad Spalding and Chris Kuzma decided to create a new virtual home for Colorado BMXers. Our initial thought was that we would put up a standard php forum site and then build a BMX website around the forum. After doing some testing, we found the perfect solution in the social networking platform Ning. Long story short, over the course of a couple of days, a new social network/forum was created for our BMX friends and family, www.thebmxdirt.com. The response has been amazing and fellow riders, teams and tracks have all taken to creating the own user profiles and groups. It will be interesting to see how the site grows as the race season begins to heat up. One thing is for sure. The conversations will be lively!

Team eBikestop at ABA Sooner Nationals

Two members of Team eBikestop traveled to Guthrie, OK for the 2009 ABA Sooner Nationals. It was a great race with tons of Colorado folks out for the event and we all had a great time. The team eBikestop riders had a good showing with Sophie Spalding taking 3rd on Friday, 4th on Saturday and 5th on Sunday. Wyatt Spalding had a great weekend taking 2nd Friday, 3rd Saturday and 2nd on Sunday. He was "hard charging" on Sunday and almost had his first National win. It was a great start to the year for the Spalding kids and they are already looking forward to the next big race. Team eBikestop is initially being formed by a small group of racers and their families. These racers are not new to BMX or team racing. After gaining experience racing for different teams, these racers and their families look to use these past experiences to create the ultimate team environment. With a focus on training and performance, these racers will continue to push to be their best. There will also be an equal focus on the important goals of sportmanship, commitment to the team, adding value to team sponsors and promoting the sport of BMX racing in as positive a light as possible. Team eBikestop looks forward to the 2009 race season.
